Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing art, and when translated into English it means Universal Life Force or Energy.

Rei = Universal
Ki = Energy.

A Reiki session usually takes an hour and is performed by a Reiki Practitioner or Reiki Master Teacher (RP or RMT) using specific hand positions. A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress, and can help support the body to facilitate healing on all levels- physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one's own personal wellness, not just illness.

Receiving Reiki is a very simple process, and can produce profound effects. The session begins with a client lying on a massage table, fully clothed, listening to gentle, soothing music, which helps to produce a state of deep relaxation. The Reiki practitioner will gently rest their hands upon you, non-intrusively, in a series of positions from the crown of the head to the feet.

Each hand position is held for a few minutes, and during this time healing energy will flow into you, balancing your energy system, releasing stress, soothing pain, and promoting your body’s natural ability to heal itself. As the energy flows, most people will feel warmth, or heat, or tingling from the Reiki practitioner's hands. Other sensations may include seeing colored lights or feeling as if you are floating. Sometimes people have an emotional release, as emotional turmoil is brought to the surface and dissipated.

Reiki brings the body, mind and spirit back into balance.

Over the years, Reiki has been proven effective in a wide range of conditions. Hospitals are now offering patients Reiki sessions as part of treating the whole person. Reiki can assist the body during chemotherapy treatments and radiation treatments. When the mind and spirit are calm and serene, and the client is relaxed, the body is more able to cope.

We are now offering Level 1 Reiki Workshops. Please call for more information.
